Surabhi Ranganathan attempts to make visible the now invisible role of the oceans in the broader history of International Law and the history of decolonisation.

Under the series “Theorizing Law of the Sea in Context”, the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea intends to explore law of the sea in context, with a strong emphasis on theory and methodology, in order to contribute to enriching law of the sea scholarship and presenting multiple and novel perspectives. The series includes lectures, seminars, interviews or other ad hoc academic formats that is digitalized, and published for on demand fruition at any time.
